Husking, Alternate Side Looping & Combing

Quilling is more than just winding paper up in a circle. There are other techniques as well. In husking you wrap the paper around pins arranged to form an open design. In alternate side looping the paper is held between the fingers while it is looped, (no pins); in both of these techniques the paper is on edge as it is in conventional quilling. In combing the strips are wound around the tines of a quillng comb (an onion holder also works). for most of these designs the paper is laid flat rather than on edge.
