I made these designs specifically to put on Christmas cards. I used the circle border punch Dancing Daisy for the background; the tiny punched out daisy reminded me of a snowflake, but any circle border punch would look nice. |
These will be attached to the cards with a removable adhesive called “Dotto Glue Dots” so they can be easily lifted off the card and hung on a tree or in a window. The designs can be assembled right on the background. |

Valentine card Here is a Valentine card using different styles of quilling.The hearts are made by alternately looping the quilling strip and then outlining the heart with crimped paper. The flowers are punch flowers which combine well with quilling. The heart cut out on the edges is backed by wide strips of quilling paper. A heart border punch was used on the card’s edges. Turkey Make 6 wheatears using 3 different colors. I used brown, paprika, and pumpkin, the longest strip is about 2 1/2” Glue the wheatears together for the turkey’s tail Make a large 24” teardrop by rolling all three colors at the same time for the body When center of large teardrop opens, glue in a brown 12” tight roll for body. Make 2 large marquises (12”) again rolling all three strips at the same time. 1 Pumpkin 12” tight roll for head 2 Red 1” shaped teardrops for “wattle” 2 Pumpkin 3” teardrops for legs 2 Pumpkin 3” triangles for feet Cut small yellow triangle for beak Arrange as shown on wax paper or backing Courtesy of Whimsiquills |
