We have even brought a line of Fiskars border punches to dress up your quilled cards and scrapbook pages. But let me tell you a little more about us. Whimsiquills is a family business located in my home in Enfield, CT. My name is Pat Caputo and I am the quiller in the family and I have been quilling for more than thirty years. I started Whimsiquills in 1981 as a way to sell some of my finished work. At the time I was an “at home mom” who loved to quill; I sold my work at home parties, craft shows and later at craft malls. I also taught quilling and gave quilling demonstrations. As my children grew up, quilling became more and more the focal point of my life. I joined the English quilling guild and authored a newsletter for American quillers for eight years. I was one of the founding members of the North American Quilling Guild and hosted three of their national conferences here in Connecticut. My designs have appeared in “The Book of Paper Quilling”, “Paper Quilling (the weekend crafter series” and “Family Circle Magazine”. I had the honor of being chosen to give a two day quilling workshop to members of the Fiber Arts and Stitchery Guild of Hawaii, (yes it was in DIY network; and was thrilled when I was asked to coordinate the 2007 and 2008 Quilling Design a Day Calendars for Accord Publishing. Two of my custom quilled pieces toured with Exhibits USA traveling Museum tour. You can see how quilling took over my life. Over the years it became harder and harder to find quilling supplies in local craft shops. Through my associations |
